The DF is the\r\nProvider Edge (PE) router responsible for sending Broadcast, Unknown\r\nUnicast, and Multicast (BUM) traffic to a multihomed Customer Edge\r\n(CE) device on a given VLAN on a particular Ethernet Segment (ES).\r\nIn addition, the ability to influence the DF election result for a\r\nVLAN based on the state of the associated Attachment Circuit (AC) is\r\nspecified. This document clarifies the DF election Finite State\r\nMachine in EVPN services. Therefore, it updates the EVPN\r\nspecification (RFC 7432).","pub_date":"April 2019","keywords":[],"obsoletes":[],"obsoleted_by":[],"updates":["RFC7432"],"updated_by":[],"see_also":[],"doi":"10.17487\/RFC8584","errata_url":"https:\/\/www.rfc-editor.org\/errata\/rfc8584"}
