PPP also defines an extensible Link Control\r\nProtocol, and proposes a family of Network Control Protocols\r\n(NCPs) for establishing and configuring different network-layer\r\nprotocols.\r\n\r\nThis document defines the method for sending IPv6 packets over PPP\r\nlinks, the NCP for establishing and configuring the IPv6 over PPP,\r\nand the method for forming IPv6 link-local addresses on PPP links.\r\n\r\nIt also specifies the conditions for performing Duplicate Address\r\nDetection on IPv6 global unicast addresses configured for PPP\r\nlinks either through stateful or stateless address\r\nautoconfiguration.\r\n\r\nThis document obsoletes RFC 2472.
